What is Evolution?
The theory of evolution is a branch of science that explains changes in genetic traits over time. The theory is based on fact that living organisms adapt to their environments, which can cause variations in genes or even whole genomes. Charles Lyell, who published the second volume of his Principles of Geology in 1833 challenged this notion and borrowed the term "evolution" from Geoffroy's student to describe the view that existing species evolve into new species in a gradual and predictable manner.
More recently evolutionary biologists have defined evolution as a process when living creatures develop characteristics that enhance their chances of survival or the ability to reproduce offspring. Over time the genetic variability could cause the emergence of entirely new physical or biological functions in the same population. Natural selection is the process that drives the most evolutionary changes. Other changes that aren't genetic, such as an increase in muscle mass due to exercise or diet, can't be considered to be evolutionary because they don't pass on to the next generation.
Creationists have a tendency to use the argument that evolution is controversial, despite the fact that it has been proven to be true by thousands of scientific tests and that it has been tested over time. They claim that the theory shouldn't be taught in schools. What is Creationism?

This is sometimes referred to as "continuous creationism" or "evolution from created kinds." The theory says that God creates the original species and then allows them to evolve over time. These evolutionary changes eventually will result in new species similar to the original.
Some creationists believe that God created all living things and the universe in one event called the Great Flood. They believe that all species were created at the same moment and then slowly evolved. They also deny the notion of abiogenesis and claim that the emergence of self-replicating organisms from nonliving matter is impossible.
In general, creationists are opposed to the teaching of evolution in schools. This position is supported by a variety of professional organizations such as the National Science Teachers Association, the Association for Science Teacher Education as well as the American Anthropological Association, and the Geological Society of America. However, certain academic institutions and scientists are more flexible and permit the inclusion of creationism and evolution in their curricula.
What is Creationism?
When people think of the concept of creationism, they often think of the United States. South Korea also has an anti-evolution group. The publishers of high-school textbooks recently announced that they would remove references to evolution in their books. A group known as the Society for Textbook Revise (STR), an independent body that is an offshoot of the Korea Association for Creation Research which is the driving force behind the campaign. STR has secured its first victory in taking away examples of the evolution of the horse and an avian ancestor, the Archeopteryx in textbooks. The focus is now on removing excerpts from Darwin's notorious finch research and on human evolution, too.
STR claims to have the support of 4,000 families and individuals. Its mission, it states, is to rid the world of what it calls "atheist materialism" that paints a negative view for students. 에볼루션게이밍 hopes to combat the influence of American creationists in the United States. A survey of biology students teachers revealed that a majority do not believe in the concept of evolution. The causes aren't clear but could be due to religion and the absence of full-time creation scientists in the country.
The KACR has achieved a lot through its lectures and seminars in the past. It also publishes a bimonthly magazine called Creation and an ebook. One of these was an educational textbook on natural sciences with a cosmological perspective. It sparked interest in the college community. In 1991 an academic and minister started teaching Creation Science in one university, and it continues to be taught until today.
On August 6th and 7th of 1993, KACR hosted a second International Symposium on Creation Research. This was held in conjunction with the opening of the World Expo in Daejeon. Six foreign lecturers, including ICR's John Morris and Steven Austin, spoke to thousands of people. KACR and its members have given lectures on creation science in major seminaries too.
